SRINAGAR, Dec 1: The residents of Nalbal area of Srinagar’s Nowshehra today protested against the lack of drinking water in the area.
As a protest, the residents blocked the main road in the area and stressed the administration to resolve their issue due to which they are facing immense hardships.
Men, women including elders came out and blocked the road while they shouted slogans against the PHE Department, which, they said has failed in providing them continuous water supply despite winters.
“They are adding to our miseries in the winters, while there are issues with the electricity supply, they are now making us suffer for the want of drinking water as well. The locals, particularly the women are facing immense hardships,” the locals said.
The locals appealed the administration as well as the higher-ups of the PHE Department to look into the matter and resolve the water crisis that the area is facing amid bone-chilling winters.
“We have to go here and there in a bid to collect water for drinking purpose; it is already winter and we are suffering; we are appealing the administration and the concerned officials to look into the matter without any further delay,” the locals said.
