MENDHAR, Aug 7: The residents of Mustafa Nagar in Mendhar are without water as the pumping station of the area is lying defunct for the last one week.
The villagers alleged that motor of Mustafa Nagar PHE Pumping Station went out of order a week back, snapping water supply to several adjoining villages and hamlets of Mendhar.
The matter was brought to the notice of PHE staff at Mendhar Sub Division, but they claimed that fault pertained to PHE Mechanical wing, Poonch. The villagers urged upon the higher authorities at Poonch to ensure water supply to the area during these hot summer days and moreover, there were no natural water sources in the vicinity.
