Mushtaq Kak’s play selected for National Theatre Festival

JAMMU, Feb 12: ‘Ghosts’, a play directed by Mushtaq Kak, has been selected for National Theatre Festival ‘Jashn-e-Rang’ being organized by Little Thespian at Kolkata from March 24 to 29, 2014.
Written originally by great playwright Henrik Ibsen in 1881 and translated in Hindi by Mohd Kazmi, ‘Ghosts’ deals with the consequences of the five characters that appear during the course of the play.
The production, prepared with the help of financial assistance from Department of Culture, Government  of India and in collaboration with Rangyatri, was first performed at K L Saigal Hall in  December last in the manner of a site-specific performance in which a play is performed at a unique, specially adapted location other than a standard theatre.  Later, the play was invited to be performed at Chandigarh in TFT Winter Theatre Festival and North Zone Cultural Centre. Mushtaq Kak of J&K has directed more than 100 plays. He moved to New Delhi nine years ago to take over the prestigious responsibility as Artistic Director of Shri Ram Centre and is one of the most successful theatre Directors from Jammu.
