Multilingual mushaira held at JU

JAMMU, Aug 21: On 3rd day of four day long  ‘Jashn-e-Azadi-2014 program , a multilingual mushaira in  Urdu, Kashmiri, Gojri and Pahari languages was organized by  J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with PG Department of Urdu, University of Jammu  in the seminar hall of PG Department of Urdu, University of Jammu.
Arash Sabhai, Nationally Acclaimed Urdu poet presided over while  Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. HoD, PG Department of Urdu Dr Sukh Chain Singh and   Additional Secretary  Dr Arvinder  Singh were also present on the occasion.
While  addressing the audiences, Arash Sabhai said that Jashn-e-Azadi-2014 organized by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages succeeded in providing the platform to the new talent and also  bridged gap  between the established poets and budding talent in  the respective languages.
Divisional Commissioner applauded the role of J&K Cultural Academy to preserve and promote art, culture and literature. While appreciating Jashn-e-Azadi, he said that organizing such event provides an opportunity to the development of languages and also inculcate the spirit of patriotism among the masses. He also recited couple of his poems which were highly appreciated by the audience.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Reeta Khadyar, Assistant Editor of the Academy.
The poets who participated included R L Johar, P N Shad, Sham Talib, Beetab Jaipuri, Layaqat jafari, Deepak Arsi, Raaz Manawari, Amin Banihali, Rahat Qazmi, Arsh Sebhai, Rahat Hussain Rehat, Noor Mohd Majrooh, Mohd Amin Anjum Attah Shah Sheikh Zahoor, Sarwar Chouhan, J L Saroor, payare Hataash. Besides new scholars Rakesh Talib, kafait Hussain, Shakeeb Ahrar and Anil also recited their poems.
