JSM committed for statehood to Jammu region: Gupta

JAMMU, Aug 21: Joining of Ashwani Sharma in BJP has nothing to do with Jammu State Morcha and in any manner the functioning of Jammu State Morcha.
This was stated by Prof Virender Gupta, president, Jammu State Morcha, adding he said that “Ashwani Sharma was not a basic member of the orgainsation. He fought Assembly election of 2008 as an independent candidate and JSM did not give him the mandate to fight that election on its behalf. In fact, JSM fielded its own candidate, Varinder Mohan Mangotra in 2008 elections from Bishnah constituency. He was using the name of Jammu State Morcha for his own interests.
Gupta said that Jammu State Morcha shall field its candidates in the forth coming Assembly elections. At present it is engaged in the process of preparing the list of the probable candidates who are involved in the social service, having a unblemished and clean image while commanding a good reputation in the society.
JSM president said that “In the forthcoming elections Jammu State Morcha is trying to form a United Front of those organizations and individuals who are committed to the cause of Statehood for Jammu region and work for a system that is accountable to the people at large. In this process the talks are on with Panthers Party, Duggar Pradesh Party and other political groups.
Among other present were H B Khajuria, Nathu Ram Gupta, Chander Uday Sharma, Divender Singh Jamwal, Subash Sharma, Prof Vijay Sharma, Rajeev Sharma, Surjeet Singh, R C Gupta, Rajinder Gupta, V D Dorga and Vishav Bandhu Gupta.
