MPEJ flays Cong for misleading people

JAMMU, Mar 3: Members of the Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ) have criticized the Congress leadership for misleading people on the development plank.
In a press statement here today MPEJ said that some top leaders of Congress are claiming that during their rule the state, especially the Kathua-Udhampur Doda parliamentary constituency made many achievements in the field of development & education. They pointed out that Education is the most important sector. The infamous scam regarding ETT happened during the Congress or Congress-NC coalition. Many new schools were opened only to benefit some favourites, throwing all other norms to the winds. And that is why most of such schools are lying defunct these days having 4-5 students and 2-3 teachers.
Former Education Minister Naeem Akhtar Later did a good deed by merging many such schools into some viable School. No Chief Minister gave any importance to Education as Late Sheikh Mohd Abdullah who had done it by keeping this portfolio with himself. The Congress made middle pass man the Education Minister during whose Ministership the Education department suffered a great loss & many scams occurred which were highlighted by the media.
The greatest surprise is that all such scams and irregularities were conveniently ignored by all the Chief Ministers of the state as well by the high command at the Centre. Regarding development, all the road works started under PMGSY during Vajpayee’s Prime Ministership were almost abandoned & were taken up only 2/3 years back & now the work is proceeding progressively on some roads.
They further said that NC & Congress have ruled the state for about 67 years is squarely responsible for all evils, neglect, under development, corruption, nepotism & discrimination with Jammu & Ladakh regions in general & the rural areas of Kashmir Division in particular & they are primarily answerable not exploiting huge potential of Hydro-electric projects, huge mineral wealth like world famous sapphire, gypsum, ruthless cutting & wasting forest wealth, huge scenic spots in the entire Chenab Valley ignored particularly after ” NOORI” film success in particular & they (NC & Congress) always remained against decentralization of powers as a result far off hilly and remote areas of the entire J&K state remained neglected & under development.
