MoE announces concessions in Higher Education

JAMMU, Oct 9: Ministry of Education, Government of India, in consultation with Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to give some concessions to the wards of Kashmiri Migrants (KMs) as well as Kashmiri Pandits (KPs)/ Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) who are living in the Kashmir valley, in their admission in the educational institutions in other parts of the country from the academic year 2020-21 and onwards, till further orders.
The concessions include relaxation in cut-off percentage up to 10% subject to minimum eligibility requirement, increase in intake capacity up to 5% course-wise, reservation of at least one seat in merit quota in technical/ professional institutions and waiving off domicile requirements for Kashmiri Migrants only while Kashmiri Pandits/ Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in Kashmir valley need domicile certificate.
The Ministry of Education has requested all AICTE approved institutions to follow these guidelines.
