JAMMU, June 10: The Political Steering Committee (PSC) of Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora (GKPD) organized its first Working Committee meeting at the Constitution Club Delhi. Members from all parts of India and abroad attended it. They expressed full faith in BJP Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The meeting said following their genocide and ethnic cleansing in Kashmir and after three decades of displacement, the Kashmiri Pandit community is on the verge of extinction. It demanded that urgent measures are required on the part of the Government of India which bears the responsibility for the security and protection of the internally displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
In the PSC Narendra Modi’s commitment to address all the issues concerning Kashmir were thoroughly welcomed and it was resolved that the community will play a proactive role in responding to the challenges ahead. PSC will play a positive and constructive role and work as partners with BJP in their mission Kashmir, it added.
It further said PSC will initially focus on Abrogation of Article 370/35-A, Temples and Shrines Bill and single concentrated settlement in the Valley.
It will also hold dialogue and parleys with all parties/stakeholders of Indian society interested in Kashmiri Pandit welfare, security and ultimate rehabilitation.
It raised awareness of the Government of India on the global leverage that GKPD brings in its goal of bringing peace and prosperity to this troubled land.
The meeting decided to expand the PSC movement and set up sub-units in Delhi, Jammu and elsewhere in the country.
It will also approach its parent Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora to elevate the recognition of Kashmiri Pandit genocide and ethnic cleansing in all international venues and forums available to the organisation.
Further it will counter internationally the evil designs of Pakistan in Kashmir of which Kashmiri Pandits have been prime victims.
While praying to Mata Kheer Bhawani on the auspicious occasion of Jyestha Ashtami, PSC is hopeful that this positive approach from the community will be received in the right spirit and that all concerned parties especially the present dispensation at the Centre will respond positively.
