UDHAMPUR, June 10: Alleging that local leaders at the helm of affairs in the last four years have remained failed to address the public grievances, Panthers Party today announced to launch an intensified struggle to expose these leaders besides highlighting the general issues such as acute scarcity of drinking water in Udhampur town.
“Local political representatives have utterly failed to fullfill the promises made by them with people and address their issues and now trying to hide their failures by be-fooling common public,” said former MLA and president of JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia, while addressing a press conference, here today.
Drawing attention towards the scarcity of drinking water in Udhampur from the last four years, he lamented that despite repeated memorandum and even protest demonstrations by the locals, the PHE Department turned a blind eye towards the grave issue. He warned an intensified agitation over the issue and announced that Panthers Party would hold a `Matka Fod’ rally at Udhampur tomorrow.
Mankotia alleged that Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh during his yesterday visits at Udhampur did not speak even a single word on burning issues of the locals, such as hike in toll tax rates, old age pension and MGNREGA pending payments. “Local leaders of Udhampur who are now claiming that Central Government has been formed due to their efforts, are befooling public because they are the same leaders who gave abusive statements against PM Modi during Assembly elections,” Mankotia alleged.
Councilor Asha Devi, Councilor Jagdish Kumar, youth leader Sushil Kumar and others were also present during the press conference.
