NEW DELHI, June 10: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today called on President of India, Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan, to seek the latter’s good wishes as the Modi Government begins its second term in office.
He also presented to the President, a rose bud and a recently published, widely-acclaimed book titled “21 Lessons for the 21st Century”.
Dr Jitendra Singh, who was sworn in by President Kovind as a Union Minister for the second consecutive term on 30th of this month, paid his respects to the President and spent nearly half an hour in a one-to-one exchange of views on a number of current topical subjects of national importance.
The President was also informed about the election outcomes in Jammu & Kashmir and that the Udhampur Lok Sabha seat had established a record in the history of Jammu & Kashmir by throwing up a result with a victory margin of over 3.57 lakh votes. The current scenario in the State also came up during the meeting.
Dr Jitendra Singh told Kovind that the entire nation was keenly looking forward to the Presidential address scheduled to be delivered by him to both the Houses of the Parliament on the 20th of this month, which will also be a historic event as the first Presidential address after the taking over of the Modi Government 2.0.
Pertinent to mention that the Parliament session is scheduled to begin on the 17th of this month while the Presidential address will be delivered on the 20th to a joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The Budget is scheduled to be presented on the 5th of July.
