MLC tours LoC villages

NOWSHERA, Oct 7: People’s Democratic Party leader and Member Legislative Council (MLC), Surinder Choudhary along with senior officers of different departments conducted extensive tour of the border areas of Nowshera to inquire about the problems being faced by the border residents.
The MLC visited Gania, Chowki, Chowki Handan, Kalsian, Bhawani, Makri, Sare, Karali, Namb, Sarya, Jhanger, Lam, Laroka, Kampla, Pukrani, Nonial and Dabber Potha and interacted with the people who are bearing brunt of the prevailing hostility on the Line of Control (LoC).
While addressing the people at different places, where border residents have taken shelter, Surinder choudhary assured to the people that State Government is committed to provide all the facilities to the peoples living in border areas. MlC said that he is standing behind them in this time of crisis. He also gave on spot directions to Sub-Divisional Magistrate and other Tehsil officers to take necessary step for the safety and betterment of poor and needy people.
The PDP leader also visited the places where Pakistani Army targeted the civilian and their houses. He advised the peoples to remain vigilant. While highlighting problems of the border residents, the MLC demanded that five marlas plots must be given to the border residents at safer places so that they can move to safer places at the time of hostility on the border.
MLC further demanded that there was a need of construction of concrete bunkers in the entire belt so that people can take shelter at the time of any emergency. He, however, said that as of now the authorities should construct temporary bunkers in border areas. He demanded tents and toilet facilities for them.
Mr Choudhary further demanded that ration meant for the Anganwadi centre situated in the border areas should be diverted in the camps so as to check mis-use of the same ration. He also reiterated his demand of starting a special recruitment drive in the border areas of Nowshera.
