JAMMU, Oct 7: The J&K unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will organise a massive rally on October 9, in connection with death anniversary of Kanshi Ram Ji, the founder of BSP.
This was disclosed by State BSP president, Tarsem Lal Khullar, while addressing media persons here today at Press Club. Other office bearers including ex-MLA Som Nath were also present on the occasion.
Khullar informed that ML Tomar, ex-MLC of UP and Coordinator, J&K and Himachal Pradesh, will be the chief guest on the occasion. He said that the rally comprising of scooters, motorcycles, cars, tractors and other small vehicles will be flagged-off on October 9 at 11 am from Kunjwani Chowk.
“After passing through Satwari, Vikram Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Shakuntla, Kachi Chawani Chowk, Parade, Shalamar, Gumat and Gujjar Nagar, the rally will finally culminate at Dr Ambedkar Chowk, where the rally will be converted into a public rally”, the State BSP president said, adding, in this public rally various grievances of common masses, particularly those belong to SC/ST/OBCs will be highlighted.
He said that major issues which will be highlighted in the public rally include restoration of reservation in promotion of Government employees, reservation to SC/ST in Government Jobs in J&K according to their population in the State, implementation of Supreme Court Order regarding reservation to OBC and other social castes in J&K, etc.
Khullar said that a memorandum highlighting these demands will be handed over to Governor NN Vohra on the same day with a request to take some positive steps to fulfill these demands.
