MJ Akbar finds way to MEA, Ahluwalia tipped to look after NE Affairs

NEW DELHI: M J Akbar, journalist-turned politician and an avid commentator on the West Asia Affairs, is tipped to join External Affairs Ministry as new MOS while Anil Madhav Dave likely to take Independent charge of the Environment and Forest Ministry, sources said.

Prakash Javadekar, the only minister elevated today to the rank of Cabinet, appears all set to come back to his previous Information and Broadcasting Ministry, the sources indicated.

Seasoned politician SS Ahluwalia is all set to get independent charge of the Ministry of North East Affairs, said the sources.

PP Chaudhary, a Law expert from Rajasthan is expected to take charge as MOS Law and Justice to assist his senior minister Sadanand Gowda while HRD Minister Smriti Irani is set to welcome Arjun Ram Meghwal in her ministry in place of Ram Shankar Katheria, sources said.

Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan and familiar BJP face in Delhi politics Vijay Goel is expected to head Youth and Sports Ministry. (AGENCIES)
