Srinagar, July 5: The crescent of Islamic month of Shawal has not been sighted this evening and Eidul Fitr will be now celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
Today was 29th of Holy fasting month of Ramzan and as the crescent was not sighted the last day of Ramzan will be observed tomorrow.
Eid is being celebrated at the end of Ramzan to thank God for the successful culmination of Holy month of Islamic calendar during which the Holy Islamic Book Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammad (SAW).
