JAMMU, Apr 9: A minor girl received gunshot wound in Kot Ghari area of tehsil Akhnoor, here today.
As per police sources, an information was received at Police Station Akhnoor through reliable sources that a man identified as Anoop Singh, son of Chain Singh of Ward Number 3 Rajput Mandi Akhnoor opened fire from his licenced pistol in a rash and negligent manner thereby causing injuries to a 15-year-old girl namely Preeti, daughter of Dinesh of Chattisgarh, at present Shri Ganesh Brick Kiln Kot Garhi.
The girl was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, from where she was discharged in the evening.
A case under FIR Number 97/2021 under Section 337 IPC and 30 Indian Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and Anoop Singh has been arrested.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
The arrest was made by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
