SRINAGAR, Apr 13: Save Kashmiri Migrant Property Movement held a demonstration in front of Press Club here today in protest against the failure of Government to restore their land from the clutches of land grabbers in the Valley.
The protest was led by Vijay Raina president of the organization and it was also addressed by Vijay Koul Budgami and other leaders.
The protestors demanded implementation of Migrants Distress Sale Act 1997. They alleged that the Government despite repeated pleas has failed to restore the migrants land encroached by mafia groups.
They said that despite many pleas to Chief Minister, Revenue Minster and Chief Secretary and others no response was given to their pleas.
The protestors alleged that the land has been grabbed by mafia groups by making fake sale deeds and illegal mutations.
They also alleged tampering of revenue records and no compensation of crops as well as fruit was paid to the owners of land since 1990 by land grabbers. They demanded that the land be immediately restored to them failing which they will intensify agitation.
