Mentha oil futures weaken on low demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 11:  Mentha oil prices fell by 0.12 per cent to Rs 847.50 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced positions, driven by weak demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Further, higher arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh put pressure on mentha oil.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April weakened by Re one, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 847.50 per kg in business turnover of 224 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in May traded marginally lower by 40 paise, or 0.05 per cent to Rs 859.90 per kg in 46 lots.
Analysts said speculators reduced holdings due to subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market against higher supplies from producing region mainly led to fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
