NEW DELHI, Dec 4: Mentha oil prices up by 0.14 per cent to Rs 865.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, mostly supported by rising demand from consuming industries.
Besides, tight stocks positions in the physical market following restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh further fuelled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December moved up by Rs 1.20, or 0.14 per cent to Rs 865.30 per kg in business turnover of 90 lots.
Similarly, oil for delivery in January edged up by 40 paise, or 0.05 per cent to Rs 877.10 per kg in 8 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators, driven by increased demand from consuming industries in the spot market against tight supplies from producing regions, mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
