MD CVPPL, Chairperson KVIC, BBIA delegation call on Lt Governor

Jammu, Dec 10: M S Babu, Managing Director, Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPL), called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The MD briefed the Lt. Governor about the status of implementation of various hydro-electric power projects being undertaken by the Corporation to harness the vast hydro potential of river Chenab.
The Lt. Governor emphasized on the completion of these hydro-electric power projects within the stipulated time frame and asked the MD to ensure the generation of employment opportunities to locals especially those living in their catchment areas.
Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chairperson, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) also met Lieutenant Governor and discussed various important issues pertaining to the promotion, organization and implementation of programs for the development of Khadi and other village industries in the rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
They also discussed the steps initiated by the KVIC for the capacity building of artisans engaged in these industries and providing financial assistance to institutions and individuals for development and operation of Khadi and Village Industries towards the establishment of a strong rural community.
A deputation of Bari Brahmana Industries Association also called on Lieutenant Governor.
The deputation led by its President, Lalit Mahajan put forth several important issues and demands related to industrial Sector of J&K including adoption of ease of doing business concept by the departments related to the Industrial sector to attract new investment; fiscal incentives for Industrial Growth in manufacturing sector; subsidized power tariff; continuation of fiscal incentives to all new units and units under substantial expansion on long term basis and modification in electricity duty;
They also demanded the reimbursement of freight by road on the import of raw materials and for the dispatch of finished goods for interstate sale and export of goods to international market; abolition of unauthorized truck operators unions; continuation of Toll Tax at Lakhanpur check post on the import of goods being manufactured by MSME sector with exemption to Industrial sector of J&K on raw material and dispatch of finished goods and developing new industrial estates with the requisite infrastructure.
The deputation lauded the Government’s step to organize Investors’ Summit to attract massive investment in J&K.
The Lt. Governor assured that all the genuine demands and issues put forth by the deputation would be looked into meticulously and redressed at the earliest.
