RAJOURI, Sept 23:- A number of events connected to the Indian Swachhata League were organised in the town here, today by Mohammad Arif president of the Municipal Council Rajouri.
These events were held in line with the Indian Swachhata League, the first intercity competition in the nation run by young people with the intention of making garbage-free communities. More than 1,800 cities, from Leh to Kanyakumari, are participating by setting up a team for their community and planning events for Seva Diwas. The National Swachhata League is strengthened by Rajouri Municipal Council, which has also selected as a team for the Swachhata League initiative.
During the inauguration of the programme , president Municipal Council Rajouri, Mohammad Arif read the welcome address. Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Vikas Kundal , Naseem Layaqat, DDC Chairman of Rajouri district, ADC Sachin Dev Singh, Bharat Bushan Vaid, vice president, Municipal Council, Rajouri, EO, Mohammad Yaqoob, ACR Imran Kataria, councilor, Mushtaq Ahmed, councilor Mohd Azam, Master Iqbal Choudhary, from BGSB University, Dr Zakir Malik, Dr Iftikhar Shah, Prof Neelam and others were present during the inauguration.
Youth of Rajouri town, students of BGSB University, students from Government PG College were also present.
According to Mohd Arif, the chairman of the Municipal Council Rajouri the day began with enthusiastic participation and the presence of highly motivated youth teams rallying for a garbage-free Rajouri City.
Bharat Bushan Vaid, vice president of the Rajouri Municipal Council, stated that the Indian Swachhata League is a nationwide competition between cities that promotes cleanliness and a commitment to making sure that the nation’s tourist destinations are free of trash.
