Matters of national security should never be a topic of public debate: Dr Jitendra

CHANDIGARH: Condemning the ‘misinformation’ campaign being propagated by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and other party leaders, Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh said that matters of national security should never be a topic of public debate and by making Rafael deal’s discussion in public, Congress has put matters of India’s national security at risk.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said Prime Minister Modi’s formidable leadership has frustrated Congress and so they are engaging in such inaccurate, baseless and illogical accusations against the Government. He said the Congress party filed four petitions in the Supreme Court regarding Rafael deal alleging irregularities on three issues– pricing, procedure and offset partner and after hearing and scrutinizing the documents the court has set aside all petitions.

The court noted that all set standards and procedures were followed by the Government and it upheld that the procurement procedure carried out was independent, transparent with no scope or solid basis to doubt this agreement vindicating the Government of all charges of irregularities in the deal.
