JAMMU,  Dec 21: MLA Mendhar Javed Rana  has alleged that many Water Supply Schemes were lying defunct in Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch.
The NC MLA, who called on Commissioner/Secretary, PHE, I&FC  here today  projected the issue strongly, demanding strengthening of PHE schemes and properly implementation of irrigation system in the border tehsil.
Chief Engineer PHE, Chief Engineer Irrigation and Xen Flood Control and Irrigation were also present on the occasion. During the meeting, MLA raised issues of  failed water distribution system in the border constituency where most of the schemes were yet to be implemented.

“Border areas including Gursai, Sanjiot, Nakka Majadi, Mankote, Gani, Dharati, Sagra, Panjani and besides others need a detailed project under BADP and under NABARD.  Due to non-availability of funds schemes are incomplete,”  Rana said.

With regard to the irrigation system in Mendhar, he expressed concern and said that Flood Control and Irrigation Department should focus in Mendhar and restore the damaged irrigation system.
“Under the centrally sponsored scheme, the Government should give funds and  sanction bore wells in Naka Majadi, Mankote, Ari, Kasbaladi so that it can be covered to strengthen the irrigation system,” he added.
