UDHAMPUR, Mar 4: Former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia today demanded separate Assembly Constituency for Landhar-Bhamag area.
While addressing series of meetings on the fourth day of “Chaurahe-Pe-Charche” program in the Galiyot, Dandota, Landar, Katti, Lattiyar, Kultiyar, Pancheri and Meer Panchayats, he said that Pancheri-Bhamag area can’t develop until it become separate Assembly constituency.
“Since this far-flung hill area falls under three Assembly constituencies viz Reasi, Chenani and Udhampur, a separate constituency is required to be carved out for development of this area,” he said and added that time has come to fight unitedly for separate Assembly.
Mankotia also appealed to the members of the De-limitation Commission to visit this area before taking decision.
On this occasion, Surjeet Singh, Sarpanch Pushpa Devi, Sarpanch Shamsher Singh, Sarpanch Bimal Kumar, Sarpanch Jaipal Sharma, Sarpanch Desraj and several Panchs were also present.
