JAMMU, Mar 29: A man was shot and injured by his neighbour following a verbal duel in Miran Sahib area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the injured has been identified as Bashir Ahmed (55) son of Hazi Ilahi, resident of Gande (Miran Sahib). The official said the victim received splinter injuries below his right knee and was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
He said Bashir was shot by his neighbor, Mohd Hanief son of Abdul Ganie with his 0.12 bore Rifle when a verbal duel broke between them over some issue near their residence. The official said a case under relevant sections was registered against Mohd Hanief and efforts were on to nab him as he fled away after committing the crime.
