JAMMU, Feb 26: A man allegedly committed suicide today by jumping into River Tawi from main bridge near Mandir-Masjid point.
“Om Singh (45) son of Hans Raj, resident of Belicharana, today jumped off the main Tawi bridge near Dogra Chowk,” a police official said, adding, the eyewitnesses informed the police which fished out the man from the river and rushed him to GMC Jammu.
“However, the doctors at GMC declared the man as brought dead,” the official said, adding the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary of the hospital for postmortem while Nowabad police had taken cognizance of the matter.
