Man held for fraud, 4 ACs recovered

JAMMU, May 30: Sarwal police arrested a cheater and recovered 4 air conditioners from his possession.
As per police sources, on May 23 this year, a complaint was lodged by Vihaan Raina, son of Amresh Raina of Shakti Nagar lodged a complaint with Police Post Sarwal stating that on May 23 he received a telephonic call and the caller ordered 4 air conditioners and asked for delivery also.
“On delivering 4 air conditioners, the caller sent 2 labourers to receive the ACs. On unloading the ACs, the caller told the auto driver to collect the payment from J&K Bank Rehari and when auto driver reached the bank, the auto driver tried to call the caller but the said mobile number was off. The auto driver again rushed back to delivery point but air conditioners were missing from there”, the complainant said.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 73/18 under Section 420 RPC was registered at Bakshi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police detained several suspects and finally arrested the cheater, who has been identified as Ankush Basur, son of Amrit Lal of Rehari Colony Jammu.
On his disclosure, police recovered 3 window air conditioner, 1 split air conditioner and 3 stabilizers valuing around Rs 1.50 lakh.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Sarwal Police Post SI Jatinder Rakwal made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Naresh Sharma, SDPO West Pranav Jamwal, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
