JAMMU, Aug 12: Police today arrested a person for allegedly kidnapping and raping a girl from Naugran area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bishnah Police Station.
A police spokesman said that, Suresh Kumar alias Kaka, son of Rattan Lal of RS Pura along with his associate Parvesh Kumar alias Pawan, son of Som Raj of Arnia kidnapped a girl from Naugran area. Later Suresh raped the girl at a secluded place, he added.
After reaching home, the girl informed the family members about the incident, who lodged a complaint with Police Station Bishnah against both the accused.
After registering a case under FIR number 106/13 under Sections 363, 376 RPC, police started investigation and arrested Suresh Kumar, he said, adding that the manhunt is going on to arrest his associate, who was also involved in the offence.
The girl was restored to family members after completing legal formalities, he added.
Police party led by SHO Narinder Singh made the arrest.
