KISHTWAR, Mar 7: A man allegedly hanged himself in lock-up at Police Station Chatroo here.
As per police sources, a man identified as Abdul Latief, son of Mohammad Ramzan of Parna Chingam hanged himself in lock-up at Police Station Chatroo.
As reported, Abdul Latief was arrested with narcotics substance and accordingly a case under FIR Number 18/2022 under relevant Sections was registered against him at Police Station Chatroo.
He was kept in the lock-up at Police Station Chatroo, where he hanged himself with a blanket and committed suicide.
However, District Magistrate Kishtwar Ashok Kumar Sharma has appointed SDM Marwah Dr Mohsin Raza as an Enquiry Magistrate, who will conduct detailed enquiry into the whole episode and furnish the report within 15 days positively.
