58 bovine animals rescued, 3 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Mar 7: Police today foiled three separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 58 animals besides arresting three smugglers.
Reports said that two different nakas were laid at Battal and Manwal by police parties of Police Station Majalta, led by SHO Inspector Virender Gupta, under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar, DySP Bhishm Dubey.
At Manwal, police party intercepted two trucks coming from Mansar and going towards Kashmir and rescued 29 bovine animals.
Truck JK13B- 5750 was loaded with 13 bovine animals while the other one, JK03D- 7019 was loaded with 16 bovine animals. On this basis, two case FIRs were registered against driver of both the trucks, identified as Yaqoob, son of Roshan Din of Chamba, Himachal Pradesh and Anwar Mohd, son of Sharief Mohd of Jhajjar Kotli, Jammu.
In another success at Battal naka, police party intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03A- 4799, driven by Mohd Arshad, son of Mohd Liyaqat of Sharanpur, UP and rescued 14 bovine animals.
