JAMMU, Nov 10: A man was crushed to death by a speedy bus near Khanpur area, falling under the jurisdiction of Nagrota police station.
As per police sources, a bus bearing registration number JK02BA-0177 hit a scooty bearing registration number JK02BF-1785 near Khanpur and later crushed the driver of the scooty under the wheels of the bus this afternoon.
The man died on the spot and his body was shifted to government medical college and hospital (GMCH), where after conducting autopsy, it was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
The deceased has been identified as Kuldeep Sharma (40), son of Des Raj, a resident of Kattal Battal.
A case under FIR number 299/14 under Section 279 and 304 RPC has been registered at Nagrota police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the driver of the bus, who escaped from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle.
