BISHNAH, Nov 10: Congress Party intensified its election campaign by holding a series of public meetings in the border town Arnia and adjoining villages.
A public meeting was organized at Arnia town during the day, while as a meeting especially involving youth of this border belt was held at village Changiya in the afternoon. These meetings were largely attended by the Sarpanchs, Panchs and Congress workers besides border people comprising women, youth and elders. Congress leaders led by Gulchain Singh Charak highlighted the local issues.
Speaking during a public meeting at Arnia town, Charak underlined the sufferings of people due to heavy and indiscriminate firing recently by the Pakistan causing loss of life and property, damage (fully or partially) to several houses in the border area , destruction of their standing crops, loss of live stock etc.
Mr Charak assured the villagers that, if elected, it will be his sincere effort to take up local issues like compensation to the people who’s kith and kin killed or injured in the Pak firing, at par with those persons who have been killed by militants; allotment of 5 marlas of land at the safer places and compensation with the Government strongly.
Addressing a meeting organized at village Changiya, Charak cautioned the youth not to fall prey to drug peddlers, anti-social elements or indulge in such activities which can put their life and future at stake and also prove them destructive for the society. He asked youth to follow the footsteps of great leaders of the nation who have always worked and sacrificed their lives for maintenance of peace, harmony and development of the society. He further emphasized upon them that it will be his priority to initiate special drives regarding recruitment of the youth of this area in the belt forces besides providing a play ground for them.
The people of the border belt reposed their confidence and faith on Gulchain Singh Charak. The Congress leaders while speaking during these meetings lauded the spirit and enthusiasm of the people of this border belt who have always stood behind the Congress Party and urged them to cast their valuable mandate in favour of Gulchain Singh Charak for the development and betterment of the area.
