JAMMU, June 10: A 42-year-old man allegedly committed suicide today by jumping from River Tawi bridge in Gujjar Nagar area.
“A man identified as Bobby Kumar son of Bhajan Chand, resident of Prem Nagar (Jammu), jumped from Gujjar Nagar bridge on River Tawi, early this morning,” Police sources said, adding, the man fell in shallow waters and died on the spot.
On getting information, a team from Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu reached the spot, fished out the body from the River and shifted it to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
“After postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members for last rites while inquest proceedings in this connection were initiated by Bagh-e-Bahu Police,” sources added.
