Malik visits far flung areas

RAJOURI, Dec 16:  Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Abdul Gani Malik on today said that Government is committed to uplift the far flung and remote areas of the State by speeding up various developmental and welfare schemes, adding that tempo of development   is gaining momentum day by day for extending various benefits to people.
The Minister was addressing several public meetings at Koteranga Budal after inspecting various under execution projects in these areas. He said that State Government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has taken up massive projects for providing adequate power and safe drinking water facilities to the people, besides road connectivity with the active financial support of Central Government.
Directing the officers of various departments accompanying him to do their duties with dedicated attitude, Mr. Malik said that ration, K.oil, LPG and other essentials have been stocked in snow bound areas  of the district in advance and steps are under way to maintain smooth traffic flow in these areas by pressing into service the snow clearance machines.
Earlier, the Minister inspected Government Degree College Budal and took stock of the functioning of the college. The Minister was accompanied by Ex MLC. Liaqyat Ali. He assured the college authority that more faculty members will be added to this college besides solving other problems confronting the institution.
Later, the Minister also presided over an officers meeting at Rajouri and reviewed the pace of progress on various developmental and welfare schemes under execution.
Responding to the demands of providing higher education at the door steps of the people, the Minister assured that the matter of opening up of Government Degree College at Kotranga will be given due consideration by the Government.
He directed the officers of Agriculture and Horticulture to provide pesticides and other logical support to the farmers and orchardist for rich cultivation of various fruits and vegetables.
