J&K Tug-of-War team leaves for Maharashtra

JAMMU, Dec 16: To participate in the 25th Men’s Senior National Tug-of-War Championship to be held from December 17 to December 22, 2012, the Jammu and Kashmir Tug-of-War team left for Nanded, Maharashtra, today.
The 27-member State team was selected by Jammu and Kashmir Tug-of-War Association after holding 5-day coaching camp at Unique Public Higher Secondary School, Gadigarh Jammu, wherein over 60 players took part.
The team was selected by S Hardeep Singh Anand, president Tug-of-War Association, Ravinder Singh Sasan, general secretary, Kuldeep Gupta, vice president and Jodh Singh Ishar, joint secretary. Jasvir Singh, chairman Unique Public Higher Secondary School and Ajay Peshin were also present on the occasion.
The team: Rakesh Kumar, Mehul Puri, Ravi Raj, Vivek, Pardeep, Sandeep, Kanwal Deep, Mohit Gupta, Mandeep Singh, Rawandeep Singh, Mohit Bharti, Ravinder Singh, Susheel Kumar, Pankaj, Rohit, Mukesh, Shaquit, Sunil, Sumit, Rajneesh, Siddharth, Ajaz Ahmad, Faheem Iqbal, Irshad, Shakir Ashraf, Rayies, Tauseef and Bilal Ahmed.
Pawandeep Singh, Sunil and Sanjeev are accompanying the team as coaches, while Tarseem is the manager.
President of the Association distributed kits among the players before their departure. These kits were sponsored by Hotel Asia Jammu and Asia-The Oasis Resort Patnitop.
