SRINAGAR, Oct 6: Peoples Conference senior vice president and former cabinet minister Abdul Gani Vakil today held a meeting of prominent youth workers in Braman Rafiabad and underscored that PC is committed to create spaces for youth to participate and be a part of the decision making for their future.
Addressing the youth at Braman Vakil said that active and meaningful participation of the youth is imperative to address the challenges that have an impact on them and their future.
“We are committed to create spaces for the youth to take the mantle of responsibility to become partners in the decision-making process and shape a brighter future for the coming generations,” Vakil said.
Vakil has further highlighted the measures that the party intends to take in order to channelise the energies of the younger generation to the fullest and accord them an important role in shaping the society and making a better place to live in. He underscored the need for creating sports facilities and culture in J&K for the youth so that the youth of J&K has multiple avenues to compete and develop a fighting spirit.
Meanwhile, a senior National Conference functionary, Khurshid Ahmad Lone from Tujjar Sharief joined the Peoples Conference in presence of party vice president Abdul Gani Vakil here.
Lone was the PAGD candidate nominated by the National Conference during the recently held DDC elections. While joining PC, Lone termed the present time in Kashmir extremely troublesome and underscored the need for a broader political vision and strategy to cope up with the ongoing challenges. He said that the time has come when people must come out of the oblivion and strengthen the Peoples Conference whose ideology and motive is entirely based on pragmatic approach and politics based on sincerity and realism.
Welcoming Lone in the fold, Vakil termed his joining as yet another achievement in terms of making the party a strong force in the area.
