Mahila Cong flays BJP for hike in LPG price

JAMMU, Feb 14: Expressing concern over unprecedented hike in the prices of essential commodities, Pradesh Mahila Congress today regretted that instead of controlling prices of essential commodities BJP led NDA government at the Centre is hiking prices of all items.
Mahila Congress especially mentioned hike in the prices of LPG cylinder. Addressing a meeting of Mahila Congress activists here this afternoon, president of Pradesh Mahila Congress and former MLA Indu Pawar said that they have already held processions against hike of essential commodities and in the coming days, they are going to hold similar protests at massive level by mobilizing common masses.
Mahila Congress workers said that the Central Government is responsible for the price rise.
“Prices of all commodities are rising with every passing day and BJP Government is unmoved by the plight of the people,” Pawar said while reminding that before 2014 general elections, BJP used to hold protest against price rise but now the same BJP has maintained a criminal silence on compounding woes of the common masses.
Pawar further regretted that every section of society is bearing brunt of anti-poor policies of Narendra Modi led government at the Centre. She said instead of addressing genuine issues of the masses, BJP leaders were unnecessarily stroking controversies by highly provocative statements only to divert attention of the masses towards total failure of the Modi Govt.
She said that it was game-plan of BJP leadership to allow such leaders to give provocative statements in the Parliament to divert attention of the people because Union Government has failed to check rise of the prices of essential commodities.
Pawar further said Mahila Congress plans to start a district-wise rallies all over J&K UT to protest against the economic policies of the Modi Government, especially the rising unemployment rate.
