JAMMU, May 18: A ‘Shradhanjali Sabha’ on the 5th Punya Tithi of former Union Minister, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta was organized by the Jammu Central Mahajan Samba ( JCMS) to pay homage to the departed soul here today.
Born on April 13, 1934 at village, Kaleeth near Akhnoor in Jammu district, Prof Gupta completed his Post Graduation in Physics from the University of Allahabad in 1958 and spent four years in Gujarat as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Pracharak. From 1962 to 1971 he served as Lecturer at Jammu and Udhampur. He was also Chief Patron of Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha.
JCMS paid tribute to veteran BJP leader and former MoS, Late Prof CL Gupta in a Shradhanjali Sabha at the Sabha Bhawan.
Romesh Chander Gupta , president of the Sabha highlighted the works and achievements made by Prof C L Gupta. He said that in spite of others major works the VDC at Doda and Kishtwar are the main achievements due to which the residents of those areas were saved and did not move to the other places during militancy.
Arun Gupta, president Chamber of Commerce and Industry also elaborated on the selfless services of Prof Gupta said that the Airport at Jammu is the gift from him and employment at the border villages in the Army and other Para-military forces. .
Shiv Pratap Gupta, also counted the achievements of the great leader. Amar Chand Gupta, president of Swami Vivekanand Hospital Jammu also spoke on the occasion and said that Prof Gupta was the founder member of the said hospital and also served it for 15 yrs as President and today the hospital is serving a large number of society patients on subsidised rates.
A large number of office bearers, working committee members of the Sabha including Sanjay Mahajan, Shiv Pratap Gupta, Ram Sarup Gupta (Sr vice presidents); Kulbhushan Gupta, Subash Gupta, Atul Gupta, Surinder Gupta (Vice presidents), Balbir Gupta, Arun Kumar Gupta, Satish Gupta, Ravi Rohmetra, Aashran Mahajan (grand son), Keser Dheri (Grand son- in-law), Ajay Gupta, Parshotam Gupta and others paid homage to the departed soul.
