LEH, May 18: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, has approved the reconstitution of the Ladakh Police (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Board to ensure transparent, fair and efficient recruitment in Ladakh Police.
The decision was taken after Police Headquarters, Ladakh, submitted a proposal citing administrative changes and the non-availability of certain members of the earlier Board, necessitating the formation of a fresh recruitment body for smooth and timely conduct of recruitment examinations.
The Recruitment Board will be responsible for conducting examinations for all notified Group ‘B’ non-gazetted posts, including Sub-Inspector posts, and Group ‘C’ posts such as Constables and Followers in Ladakh Police.
The newly constituted Board comprises DIG Leh-Kargil Range Koshal Kumar Sharma as Chairman and SSP Traffic Ladakh Vikas Kumar as Member Secretary, along with SP Security Fulzele Piyush Nirakar, SP District Leh Raam R, SP Kargil Nitin Yadav, DySP Dar Leh Padma Dorjey, and DySP Headquarters Kargil Anayatulla, as Members.
The Lieutenant Governor said the reconstitution of the Board reflects the commitment of the UT Administration towards ensuring fair, transparent and merit-based recruitment opportunities for the youth of Ladakh.
He said a credible and professionally managed recruitment system would strengthen the confidence of aspiring candidates and create greater employment opportunities for local youth.
The Board has been directed to adopt a technology-enabled Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP) by using biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, digital attendance systems and online applications to maintain transparency, integrity and credibility during the recruitment process.
