BISHNAH, Mar 17: Seeking over whelming support from the people to establish a new system of justice and equality in Jammu and Kashmir, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Yash Pal Sharma MLC said that coming Lok Sabha elections would be a trailer of campaign launched by his party to change present system of corruption and mis-governance.
He observed that Lok Sabha elections would set the trend for change in the coming Assembly elections.
“People’s urge for change is gaining momentum with every passing. Over-whelming response to PDP is a clear indication that there is strong wave for change in the State”, Mr Sharma said while addressing series of public meetings at Bishnah and R S Pura Assembly segments.
Exuding confidence that PDP would sweep the Lok Sabha elections, he said that people were fed up with the mis-governance and rampant corruption in the State so they were waiting for an opportunity to give a befitting reply to this Government.
“PDP is seeking mandate to change destiny of the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said and called upon the party workers to intensify the on-going campaign for change. “Coming Lok Sabha elections are an opportunity to channelize anger of the people against this Government”, he said.
Sharma said that there was a widespread public recognition of the fact that the credible leadership of PDP had positively transformed the State’s political, economic and developmental landscape during its tenure. “The process of the State’s political and economic transformation started by the PDP-led coalition government in the year 2002 has to be now taken to the logical conclusion because the present regime has miserably failed to carry forward this process”, he said and assured the gathering that PDP would, with fresh resolve, embark on the agenda of peace, equitable development and sustainable economic prosperity for the people in all the regions and sub-regions of the State.
Trilok Singh Bajwa, Choudhary Hussain Ali Wafa, Chatter Singh Saini, Satpal Singh Charak, Yash Pal Bhagat, Bablu Sharma, Tarsaim Saini, Madan Lal Chalotra, Ashwani Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Balbir Singh Saini, K Bhagat and others also spoke in these meetings.
