UDHAMPUR, June 1: Locals strongly protested against worst condition of PMGSY road from village Kanthgali to Mallti in Panchari Tehsil of Udhampur district.
The protestors, led by the local Sarpanches, raised slogans against the PMGSY Department and appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to take cognizance of extremely bad condition of of this PMGSY road, which is the only surface link for a number of villages.
They said that on this 30 km Kanthgali to Mallti road under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Rs 30 crore were spent but condition of the this road is so bad that old and sick people can’t even walk on the stretch, which is filled with potholes and no culverts at various places.
Sarpanch Jeevan Sharma, Rajinder Sharma (Ex. Sarpanch), Kartar Singh, Sarpanch of Panchayat Sandota, Kuldeep Sharma, Sarpanch of Panchayat Chulna, Kartar Chand, sarpanch of Panchayat Katti, Kailash Singh, Sarpanch of Panchayat Summan, Kuldeep Raj, sarpanch of Panchayat Latyar and Pawan Kumar, Sarpanch of Panchayat Kultyar, led the protest demonstration.
