Locals not provided relief by Govt agencies: JKSIF

JAMMU, Apr 30: All J&K POJK 1947 Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum (JKSIF) called an emergency meeting through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Adv. Amrik Singh its president and it was joined by Surjit Singh general secretary of the Forum in which grave concern was expressed over ignoring of local people who lost their daily earning due to lock down. These people included drivers, conductors, peons, chowkidars and those belonging to labour class as they can’t move out of their houses to earn their living since March, the forum said.
These people are without wages as no work no pay formula applies to them in private and unorganised sector, the Forum said. It said that all the leaders are engaged in distributing the food items in Jhugi Jhumpris belonging to people from outsider states like Rohingyas, Bangladeshi etc whereas the local poor residents are ignored by the administration and this fact is very well known to everyone one.
The Forum said that Prime Minister has issued directions to the concerned authorities of every State and UT to take care of every needy person whosoever belongs to poor category. Some of trucks, Taxi, auto, matadors and bus drivers are sitting without salaries and they have no money to pay fee of their school going children. It appealed Lt. Governor of J&K UT to issue directions to the concerned authorities to deliver the necessarily food items to the local needy residents besides directing the private school administration not to charge any fee from children for lockdown period.
The other prominent persons who attended were Inder Singh Sudan, corporator Ward No 44 Jagjit Singh, publicity Secretary, Nasib Singh, Kuldeep Singh, K.D Singh, Paramjit Singh vice presidents, Kuldeep Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Ravinder Singh, Khazan Singh etc.
