JAMMU, Feb 4: The LoC trade delegation from Poonch and Uri called on president Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu, Y V Sharma in his office chamber here today and sought Chamber’s intervention to exert pressure on the Government to resolve the issue of suspended cross LoC trade at the earliest.
The traders expressed that they were facing lot of problems and their business has come to stand still after a vehicle carrying narcotics from PoK side was seized and its driver arrested. They said that due to wrong activity of one single person a large number of traders are facing lot of hardships.
During the meeting with the Jammu Chamber members, it was emphasized that solution to the problem has to be found in a way so that justice is delivered to other sufferers and wrong doer punished. The delegation through Chamber appealed to the Government to resolve this issue at the earliest so that CBMs are put in place and the stalled business is restored. They said any delay to normalize the relations will cause huge loss to the members of trading community.
The delegation members also appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who raised this issue with the Prime Minister during his recent visit to Jammu.
