JAMMU, Feb 4: Non Camp Migrant Organization (NCMO) held a demonstration in front of Relief Organization here today demanding allotment of quarters to migrant families putting up in rented accommodations for last 24 years.
The demonstration was led by Nana Ji Dembi. He urged the Relief Commissioner Migrants and other authorities to consider the plea of rented migrant families on priority basis as they are not in a position to pay the rent of private accommodations due to sky rocketing prices.
They demanded that allotment of quarters to rented migrants at Jagti township be made before Maha Shivratri festival. They further demanded enhancement of cash assistance to Rs 15,000 per family per month.
NC Migrant Cell president M K Yogi assured the protestors that his organization will also impress upon the authorities to allot quarters before Maha Shivratri.
