SAMBA, July 16: A special team of Legal Metrology Department from district Samba during intensive market checking in Samba, Vijaypur and Bari Brahmana on the eve of Eid today imposed heavy fine on the traders.
The team led by Assistant Controller LMD Samba, Anita Sharma and assisted by field inspectors, inspected petrol pumps, gas agencies, hardware shops, jewelers, karyana shops, fruits/ vegetable/ meat/ sweet shops and other establishments and booked about a dozen defaulters. A fine of Rs 11,600 was imposed and realized from the dishonest traders.
The department further appealed to the consumers to check commodity, MRP and date of packing etc while making purchases of various goods/ items.
