Life-imprisonment awarded in murder case

JAMMU, Jan 20: Principal Sessions Judge Poonch, Jaffer Hussain Beigh today awarded life-imprisonment to Amarjeet Singh alias Kaka, who committed murder of his lover’s husband and acquitted Sunita Kour, wife of deceased Joginder Singh.
According to the police case, on June 20, 2010 accused Amarjeet Singh trespassed into the house of Joginder Singh situated at Mangnar and killed him. During the course of investigation, it came to fore that Amarjeet Singh had illicit relation with Sunita Kour, wife of deceased.
When deceased came to know about this, he started beating his wife, which compelled Amarjeet Singh to eliminate Joginder Singh.
“There is no evidence against Sunita Kour as such she is acquitted of the charges. However, charges against Amarjeet Singh have been established”, the court observed and awarded life imprisonment to accused.
