LG Sinha Leads Anti-Drug Campaign In Ramban, Calls For United Societal Action

JAMMU, Apr 15: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday launched the ‘Drug-free Jammu and Kashmir campaign’ in the Ramban district, asserting that when society stands united behind a cause, the law becomes a thousand times stronger.
Sinha launched a 100-day intensive anti-drug campaign under on April 11 from Jammu and April 13 from Kathua.
Leading a ‘padyatra’ and addressing a public meeting in Ramban, the lieutenant governor said, “Today, I led a ‘padyatra’ and addressed a public meeting in Ramban as part of the Drug-Free Jammu Kashmir campaign”.
He said that the initiative was aimed at eradicating drug addiction from its roots, transforming society, and securing the future of the youth.
“This wasn’t an ordinary event. We were gathered with resolve to eradicate drug addiction from its roots, transform society, and secure our youth’s future,” Sinha said.
He emphasised the need for collective responsibility in tackling the menace of drug abuse, stating that a strong social movement would reinforce legal measures.
“I firmly believe that when society stands united behind a cause, the law becomes a thousand times stronger. We must build a society where the dealer fears law, and the one who breaks free from drugs feels proud of themselves, their family, their society, and their government,” he said.
