POONCH, Jan 29: Let’s Play under Khelo India of Kanuyian zone got underway here today.
The Football tournament began at Jhulas Army ground, here.
On the occasion, Riaz-ul-Haq ICPP Jhulas was the chief guest.
The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the supervision of Mohd Ayaz Khan, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Poonch and ZPEO Narjeet Singh.
In 6-12 boys, GMS Jhulas beat GMS Bhainch, while in 13-16 boys, HS Jhulas outplayed HS Mangnar, in 17-19 boys, HS Jhulas defeated HS Mangnar.
In 6-12 girls, MS Salotri drubbed HS Mangane, in 13-16 girls, HS Khaneter trounced HS Dara Dullian and in 17-19 girls, HS Jhulas prevailed over HS Khaneter.
The matches were officiated by Tarlochan Singh, Rajinder Singh Toofan, DK Raina, Sanjay Sharma, Narinder Singh, Simran Kour, Tajinder Kour, Darshan Kour and Rubina Bhagal.
At Poonch zone, the competition was started at boys Hr Secondary School Poonch organized by Zonal Physical Education Officer Poonch.
Twelve teams of boys of different age group and 6 teams of girls are participating in the tournament which was declared open Principal boys Higher Secondary School Poonch, Sudershan Sharma.
The opening match of the tournament was played between Panther Club-A and Boys Hr Secondary School Poonch in which Panther Club defeated BHSS Poonch by two goals to nil (2-0), while in girls section, HSS Poonch defeated Guru Niwas School by 3-0 goals.
The competition was conducted under the overall supervision of Jatinder Singh Tandon and all staff members of ZPEO Poonch.
At Mandi and Sathra zones, the tournament commenced at BSF ground Rajpura Mandi.
A total of 12 teams of three age groups in boys section from Sathra zone and 12 teams from Mandi zone are participating in the tournament.
The tournament was declared open by chief guest, Gajraj Yadhav, Commandant 137 Battilion BSF Mandi.
Mandi Zone results: Under-19 Boys;
HSS Mandi beat HSS Loran by 2-0;
HSS Sawjian got the better of Mandi Bela by 4-3 via tie-breaker.
In Under-16 boys, HSS Mandi beat Arai by 2-0 and HSS Sawjian outplayed HS Bedar by 3-2.
In Under-12 boys, Muqaddas Academy beat MS Mandi by 1-0 and MS Barachar defeated Sawjian and Aiied Academy by 1-0
Result of Sathra zone: U-12 boys, MS Jandrolla beat MS Kalani by 3-2, while in U-16 boys, Fatehpur High School trounced Bhaila High School by 2-1 and in Under-19 age group, HS Sloonia drubbed High School Bhaila by 1-0.
