Jammu, July 24: Police and Army today arrested a militant of LeT outfit along with arms and ammunition from Phagsoo forests in the jurisdiction of police station Thathri of district Doda.
He has been identified as Jamal Din Gujjar son of Khair Din, a resident of Pathna Keshwan, Kishtwar.
Reports said that acting on reliable information about the presence /movement of militants in general forest area of Thathri, today, a joint operations party of district police Doda in association with 26 RR launched search operation and cordoned off the forest area falling in the jurisdiction of police station Thathri . During search, one militant of LeT outfit identified as Jamal Din Gujjar, who was active for the last one year, was arrested from Phagsoo forest
During cordon and search, one AK rifle, one magazine of AK, one pouch and other edible items were recovered from the arrested militant, who was carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh.
Jamal Din was earlier injured in an encounter which had taken place in Sarawan forest in Kishtwar on 22-06-2019 with SOG of Kishtwar and since then he was hiding in the area.
Reliable sources said the militant surrendered before an Intelligence agency in Kishtwar as he had been injured in an encounter in upper reaches of the district recently. However, Kishtwar police refused to accept his surrender offer, sources said.
