DODA, Aug 28: A large number of Kastigarh residents today staged a protest demonstration against the Department of Wildlife Conservation and District Administration.
The protesters were raising slogans against the concerned authorities and were demanding immediate action to capture the wild animals, which attacked several people in the area during last week.
They claimed sleepless nights due to the terror of beast which moves near the residential area for the last few days.
Locals of the area claimed that yesterday the bear attacked and injured ten persons, four of which were shifted to GMC Doda.
The movement of bear and leopard in the area has caused panic among locals and they are scared of moving outside.
The people lock themselves in their houses during night.
Rachna Devi, a villager said such incidents have become common and not a day passes when such incidents do not take place.
The protestors alleged that despite repeated requests the concerning department did not took action in this serious matter.
