RAJOURI, Oct 26: The School of Engineering and Technology, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri organized a lecture cum interaction session on ‘Quality Engineering and its Relevance to Engineering’ under its ‘Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQUIP-III).
The lecture was delivered by special invitee, Prof Arif Suhail, who has been a senior Professor and Ex- Chairman in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Zakir Hussain College of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University.
In his extensive lecture, Prof Suhail explained the concept of Quality from the ancient times. He explained in lucid manner the need to ‘Change for Good’ and how this leads to improvement in productivity and personal efficiency. The speaker further highlighted the sustenance of Quality in Engineering practices and its relevance to education system. He deliberated on the various key aspects of Quality Improvement in Education system.
Prof Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor, BGSBU, in his message, said that such interaction shall not only increase the knowledge of the students and faculty but also broaden the horizon of their thoughts. He further added that the university is always keen to have such lectures, interactions, workshops and conferences.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Iqbal Parvez, Registrar and Dean Academic Affairs BGSBU expressed his delight on having such a learned guest in the University to guide the young faculty and students of BGSBU.
Along with Prof Iqbal Parvez and Prof M Asghar, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, the event witnessed a huge participation of students and faculty members. The programme was hosted and anchored by Mir Aijaz, Assistant Professor, SoET, BGSBU.
